Music

Music forms part of the Arts curriculum. This subject is taught partly as classroom curriculum and as a specialist program.  All classes receive a weekly lesson from our music specialist teacher, Natika Jenes. Lessons include exposure to, and exploration of musical instruments, singing, dancing and drama. Students enjoy learning about music in different cultures such as African Drumming. The students are involved in creating and performing musical compositions. This often includes the use of technology such as Garage Band.

The School has a choir which performs at events like school assemblies, Panton Hill On The Hill Festival and the Wattle Festival. They have performed for residents at the Kerala Aged Care Home, St Vincents Aged Care Home, Panton Hill Living and Learning Centre and Panton Hill Carols by Candlelight.

An annual concert on stage at the Panton Hill Community Hall, late in term four, showcases aspects of our Performing Arts Program to an audience of parents and visitors.

Private instrumental music lessons are also available and are very popular with our students. Through LPC music, we offer lessons to students in Grades 1-6 in vocals, guitar, keyboards, drums, ukelele and violin. These lessons are very well attended. We showcase these students with gigs at the Panton Hill Hotel where the students have the experience of playing to  sell-out crowds and where families can celebrate the great achievements made.
